Enjoying a cup of tea mindfully is a sacred practice. An opportunity to bring the energy of mindfulness into our daily lives.
On Sunday morning July 27 we will join together via Zoom for a cup of tea that you will be invited to prepare in your home. Facilitators Eve and Traci will explain, using examples from Plum Village practice, why drinking tea can help create more joy and happiness in our lives and in the world.
Please mark your calendar for this very special practice and come prepared to have a cup of tea with Thay and friends online.
How to prepare for the tea meditation:
Prepare and have at hand an already steeped mug of tea before you join the Zoom. You might cover your mug with a saucer or other dish. Or you could prepare a thermos of tea and have a mug nearby. In other words, bring already prepared tea that can stay warm for about 10 minutes. If tea isn’t your beverage of choice–or hot tea is not your thing–no worries! Bring your coffee, hot chocolate, iced tea, etc.!
Other tips:
Choose a mug that feels comfortable and pleasant to hold.
Don’t fill your mug too high. You want to be able to move and hold it without fear of spilling too easily.
If you choose to keep your tea in a thermos before we begin, don’t pour the tea into your thermos boiling hot. You don’t want your tea too hot to enjoy a few minutes after pouring it into your mug.
